What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese natural healing system developed by Dr Usui in the late 1900’s. It is a complementary therapy and is used alongside conventional medicine. The word REIKI literally translated is two words - REI meaning universal and KI meaning non-physical energy. Therefore, Reiki can be defined as ‘universal energy’.

How can Reiki benefit ones health?

The truth is, is that no yet knows precisely how Reiki healing works, though there are well developed theories. As believed in many eastern traditions ‘Ki’ needs to flow freely throughout the body. Blockages can occur and as a result we may develop an illness, emotional or physical problems. It is the belief that this energy is drawn into the body of the recipient, allowing them to activate their own self healing powers, healing energy blockages and restoring health and well being. As a result it is known to bring balance and harmony back into everyday lives. Most people benefit from treatment though for better long lasting results regular treatment is recommended.
